"How To Live Through Hurricane Irene"

There's a huge storm bearing down on the east coast of the USA today.

Let the begging begin.

"O God, spare your children the loss of life and property and move this storm away from us. Forgive us whatever it is that has caused You to turn your wrath against us."

I'm not going to get into all of the reasons why that kind of "prayer" is off the rails.

I just know that the first order of business is usually to assume God is behind it and to blame Him. Satan usually gets a free pass.

I'm just going to point you to Jesus this morning.

First of all, Jesus is the calmer of storms, not the cause.

He called those who freak out over such things as those of "little faith".

Mark 4:37-41 (AMP)
37 And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat, so that it was already becoming filled.
38 But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing?
39 And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness).
40 He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)?
41 And they were filled with great awe and feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey Him?

Let me suggest that when you pray about this storm that you do so with the authority that Jesus has given you.

Utilize the Scriptural Promise and Truth:

Luke 10:19 (AMP) - "Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you."

Have faith and use the authority you have as a believer to drain the power of the storm and send it back out to sea.

It works. I have no fear or concerns that in any situation, my family and home is fully protected by all the benefits of Heaven.

Never blame God. He is not the Author of sickness, storms, or poverty. Satan is the "god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4), and he has powers to conjure up destruction. However...

...Jesus is greater than Satan. If you are a believer and a disciple of Jesus Christ, SO ARE YOU.

Join me today. You do not havew to be a VICTIM today, but instead you can be a VICTOR!

"In the Name of Jesus Christ, I take authority over this storm and bind its power. Father, You know what we need before we ask, so I loose Your peace and calm to take its proper place here on earth AS IT IS IN HEAVEN (Matt. 6:8-10)."

Keepin' it Real,

Pastor Kevin <><
