"Cursed Or Blessed?", by Pastor Kevin Lynch

The blood of Jesus Christ is powerful. His blood shed upon the cross has enriched or condemned the lives of those who receive it.

For those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and received the cleansing associated with His blood, it has brought blessings and freedom from the penalty of our sins.

For those who have rejected it as being true and efficacious it has brought untold curses and trouble upon themselves and generations that followed.

Look at the example taken from the scene of the trial of Jesus before Pilate and the Jews of Jerusalem.

Mat 27:22 Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!"
Mat 27:23 And he said, "Why, what evil has he done?" But they shouted all the more, "Let him be crucified!"
Mat 27:24 So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of this man's blood; see to it yourselves."
Mat 27:25 And all the people answered, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

This is an example of receiving the blood of Jesus negatively. They would have rather had the murderer Barabbas released back into the community than Jesus.

Even the idolatrous Pilate with his pantheon of gods knew better than to heap the curse upon himself.

Not only did the people bring a curse upon themselves personally, but they assured all future generations of their ancestors would be cursed as well. This is a "generational curse" in the truest sense of the word.

All one has to do is trace the history of the Jewish people from that point onward to see that there has been nothing but troubles and trials from then right up until the present.

This does not mean that every Jewish person suffers, but as a nation and a people the difficulties they have suffered is unprecedented in world history.

Fortunately there has always been a remedy to break the curse of rejection and denial of Christ.

Simply recognize Jesus for who He is and what He has done for you. This is true for all of mankind regardless of race, sex, and national origin. Jesus died for all and all needs to receive Him.

Paul says in Rom. 10 that we need to confess that Jesus is Lord and the result will be eternal salvation.

I hope that all who read this know Jesus today.

If not then it is something to consider.

Blessings or curses weigh in the balance.

Keepin' it Real,

Pastor Kevin <><
