"Rock Steady"

Let's open with a conclusion this morning.

Ephesians 6:10 (Amplified Bible) - "In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]."

I made that conclusion over 25 years ago. Conclusions are generally preceded by an opening act.

My opening act was almost my closing act.

The details aren't important, but I could have easily checked out about 1986, but instead, by the power of Christ and His might, I am alive today to live out my concluding chapters.

My strength is never enough. If you haven't concluded that about yourself by now, I suggest you give it some thought.

There is an empowerment that comes only through Christ, and we are instructed to draw our strength from that power.

I personally find it a very dramatic change. Some folks find it more evenly distributed.

Importantly for me, it has taken a topsy-turvy life and straightened out the wrinkles a bit. Smoothed things out so to speak.

I rock steady, or better put, am steady on the Rock.

Introspection is good for the soul.

Are you steady on the Rock of Christ?

Or shaky on shifting sand?

Peace or turmoil? Calm or stormy? Joyful or sad? Morose or cheerful? Sour or sweet?

Can you assess your demeanor and behavior and confront it if need be, and heed the words of Paul this morning?

Anything less than an empowering life and experience in Christ is selling yourself short today!

My prayer for you today is that you have the courage to confront those things in your life that are confounding the power of Christ. That you can bag it up and kick it to the curb, and begin to live the life Jesus has designed for you.

Be blessed in Him today!

Keepin' it Real,

Pastor Kevin <><
